What can I do?

No matter how small the action, Mandela Day is about changing the world for the better, just as Mr Mandela did, every day.

What are you doing to make the world a better place; what are you doing to make every day a Mandela Day?

#HASHTAGS

As the world reflects on Nelson Mandela’s legacy, we give thanks for his life, his leadership, his devotion to humanity and humanitarian causes. We salute and thank him for his sacrifices for our freedom and our future.

Nelson Mandela saw himself first and foremost as a servant of South Africa’s people to whom he owed a duty and whom he led by example.

Positive change for the better was the gift left to all of us  by Nelson Mandela – it’s a living legacy and now it's your turn.

“When a man has done what he considers to be his duty to his people and his country, he can rest in peace. I believe I have made that effort and that is, therefore, why I will sleep for the eternity.”

In the spirit of Madiba and his vision to spread social justice and freedom for all, this is your chance to become a part of a continuous global movement for good.

Let us all emulate the servant leader we loved by all becoming servant leaders ourselves -

By giving a little of your time to make a change that's close to your heart or by giving a little of your time to make a difference to the life of someone else, you can start changing the world around you.

Quotes by Nelson Mandela

“If you want to make peace with your enemy, you have to work with your enemy. Then he becomes your partner.”

“There is no passion to be found playing small - in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.”

It always seems impossible until it's done.

Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.

“The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.”

“And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same”

“It is better to lead from behind and to put others in front, especially when you celebrate victory when nice things occur. You take the front line when there is danger. Then people will appreciate your leadership.”

“I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.”

Communists have always played an active role in the fight by colonial countries for their freedom, because the short-term objects of Communism would always correspond with the long-term objects of freedom movements.

A good head and a good heart are always a formidable combination.
